Name seami Sign Date 2012-01-26

Hello~ I am inquiring about double eyelid surgeries~

I have forehead wrinkles and my eyes look heavy. I think it is Ptosis. Can I go to

work immediately after the surgery? I can't take too many days off work...

Also I have thick eyelids and can they only be cured through an incisional method?

Waiting for your reply~~

Hi there. This is Dream Plastic Surgery and we would like to thank you for visiting our site.

Normally there are three reasons associated with the difficulty to open eyes, contraction of eyebrows and hence causing wrinkles to forehead and they are Ptosis, Blepharochalasis and Curtain Eye Syndrome. Of these, Ptosis refers to the disease where a person can\'t open eyes wide. The most common cure is to pull on the eye opening muscles by shortening levator palpebrae superioris muscle and this method can be considered as an incisional double eyelid surgery accompanied with levator muscle shortening.

On the other hand, the main difference from Ptosis is that with Curtain Eye Syndrome, eye opening muscles are normal. To explain a little bit more about Curtain Eye Syndrom... when eye lids continue to drape over eyes, you tend to build a habit of lifting your eyelids with eyelashes and forehead. Every time you open your eyes, you must contract your forehead to lift eyebrows and eyelids, hence causing more forehead movements, which in turn will cause wrinkles on forehead and more draping of eyebrows and eyelids every year. When opening eyes, forehead and eyebrows are strenuously lifted... Relentless contraction of eyebrows and forehead all day can easily cause fatigue and maybe accompanied by migraine...

This can be readily cured by lifting eye lids through a double lid surgery and early cure is strongly recommended for both aesthetic and functional reasons. It is generally considered that thick and drooping eyes need incisional surgeries. But incisional surgeries on thick and drooping eyelids can often give unsatisfactory results and for this reason, it is a more beneficial to have buried methods in many ways...Of course, with thick and drooping eyes, simple buried method can see sutures coming loose and the way I will operate involves treating fatty deposit and lipid films through partial incisions in combination with buried method... it enjoys all the benefits of partial incision surgery all underneath and hides surgical scars with very small chance of sutures coming undone. From patients’ perspective, this would be the most natural and perfect choice and it is called \"Minimal Incision, Continuously Buried Method\"...

I hope you can drop by our Apgujeong Clinic at your convenience(Tel:546-1615). I will examine and recommend the most suitable and beneficial treatment method. I wish you have a wonderful day and thank you.
